On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to attend our 13th conference on Liver Surgery which is to be held in Ahmedabad on December 18th, 2022. The theme of this edition is “Therapeutic Strategies for Hepatocellular Carcinoma – Where are we in 2022?”. This meeting is being organized by Gujarat Liver and Digestive Surgery Clinic (GLDC), in association with Sterling Hospitals.

We started Liver Update series in 2009 to discuss different issues related to Liver Surgery. Over the last 13 years the Liver Update series is the most recognized and eagerly awaited annual event related to Liver Surgery in this part of the country.

The theme of this 13th edition of Liver Update is “Therapeutic Strategies for Hepatocellular Carcinoma” addressing the new prospects in liver surgery. There are many therapeutic options of HCC and the success of treating a patient with HCC is often linked to the appropriate use of various treatments, combining neoadjuvant and adjuvant modalities with surgery. Thus, the best approach for a patient with HCC is achieved by a multidisciplinary team. It is important to understand and select the right therapeutic modality for a particular case. Liver Update 2022 hopes to provide an ideal opportunity for all these disciplines that contributes to the management of HCC patients. The scientific program would highlight the important aspects the surgical technique and various novel therapeutic options for these patients. A special session shall also provide insight into liver transplantation and its present role in management of HCC. The meeting will consist of lectures, master videos and panel discussions involving renowned national experts. The aim of this event is to update and promote interchange of the current knowledge and recent progress focusing on innovative strategies and recent advances in liver surgery.
